By air

By Bus (From Turkey)

From Istanbul to Alexandroupoli (10:00 and 22:00)

The ticket price is €23 one way and €42 return ticket. For student tickets the prices are €19 and €34 respectively.

How to get to Alexandroupoli (from Athens or Thessaloniki)

 

 

 

By Air

By bus  

From Athens

There is one direct connection, departing at 17:00 from Athens to Alexandroupoli only on Saturdays. All the other routes (except Saturdays) are indirect and connected via Thessaloniki bus station http://www.ktelmacedonia.gr/en/home/list/  

The trip lasts around 10 hours and the bus fare is €68 for one way trip and €104 for return trip. For student tickets the prices are €51.60 and €87 respectively.

 

If you decide to reach Alexandroupoli by bus from Athens, you should go from Athens airport to the Athens central long-distance bus terminal (named Kifissos station). The best way to get there is to take the X93 express bus line which costs €5 (student price €2.50).

By train

Alexandroupoli is connected by rail to Athens and Thessaloniki.

 

If you want to catch the train from Athens:

The journey by train from Athens lasts about 12 hours, depending on the train you want to catch. The ticket costs €29 or €48 depending on the type of train. http://www.trainose.gr/en

 

The train terminal in Athens is called "Larissa station" (Stathmos Larissis).

 

In order to get to the Larissa RAIL STATION (Stathmos Larissis) in Athens, from the Airport:

 

1. You can use the metro from the Airport to Syntagma.

When you get to Syntagma you change to the red metro line and you get off at Larissa Rail Station (Stathmos Larissis). The route costs €8 (student price €4).

 

2. You can use the bus X95 from the Airport to the city center (Syntagma Square) and then you take the metro (red line) to Larissa Rail Station (Stathmos Larissis).

The bus ticket costs €5 (student price €2.50) and the metro ticket €1.20 (student price €0.60).

 

3. You can take a taxi. Approximate cost is €40.

  

 

If you want to catch the train from Thessaloniki:

From Thessaloniki to Alexandroupoli the trip lasts about 7 hours and the price is about €13. http://www.trainose.gr/en

 

You can take a taxi or bus number 78 from MAKEDONIA airport to reach the Rail Station.

 

 

 

By boat
